Heritage & Conservation Roofing — Warwickshire
Four generations of craftsmanship in natural slate, handmade clay tiles and traditional leadwork. Serving Warwick, Leamington, Stratford and the surrounding counties.
The Traditional Roofing Company
Roofing has run in our family for over a century. It began with Riccardo's great-grandfather, Laban Lovell, roofing in Coventry after the First World War, and passed down through his grandfather, Thomas Lovell, to his father, Fernando Di Pietro — who grew it into the business it is today, earning much of the loyal client base we still serve. Fernando passed it to Riccardo, the fourth generation, who joined him on the roofs at fourteen. Today Riccardo leads every job from full re-roofs in natural slate to the smallest lead repair, alongside Project Manager Paul McCarron, who joined the family business twenty years ago and runs the crew on site. We work from the gutterline up, and we don't cut corners — on materials, on safety, or on our word.
What We Do
Natural and man-made slate, laid with the precision it deserves — full re-roofs, repairs and new builds.
Machine-made and traditional handmade clay tiles, including conservation-grade work on period properties.
Flashings, valleys, box gutters and cladding — traditional leadwork formed and dressed by hand, with lead burning carried out on site for seamless, welded detailing where the job demands it.
Concrete interlocking pan tiles for full re-roofs and new builds — a cost-effective, hard-wearing roof, laid fast and laid right.
EPDM rubber systems as our flat roof of choice — durable, clean and long-lasting — with torch-on felt available on request. Both backed by our 10 year workmanship guarantee.
Re-pointing, rebuilding and lead detailing that keeps the most exposed part of your roof sound.
Fascias, soffits and guttering — including traditional cast iron and galvanised steel rainwater systems for period and high-end properties.
Velux roof window installation, fitted and weathered properly — with the full manufacturer warranty passed on to you.
Our Specialism
Warwickshire's older buildings deserve roofers who understand them. We specialise in period and listed properties — matching original materials, reclaiming and re-laying handmade tiles and Welsh slate, and detailing leadwork the way it was first done generations ago.
Our Work
A selection of recent projects across Warwickshire — new builds, re-roofs, heritage restorations and the fine detail in between.

"To protect what matters most to families by delivering exceptional roofing they can trust completely."
Look closely at our badge — the figure walking the roof is Thomas Lovell, Riccardo's grandfather, drawn from an old black-and-white photograph. He's a fitting emblem for a company named after the way he, and the generations before and after him, have always worked: traditionally, by hand, and to a standard built to last.
That inheritance comes with a simple standard: craftsmanship that stands up to scrutiny, communication you can rely on, and turning up when we say we will. Whether it's a slipped slate or a full heritage re-roof, you'll deal with us directly from first visit to final inspection.
